Brenda spent her last 66 days in the University Hospital at Norwich. I would make the 40 mile round journey each day to be with her, at times I was able to take in two visiting sessions. During her stay there she took an intense liking to Rod Stewarts recording of "I am Sailing". To please her I typed out the lyrics on my computer in bold colourful italics ending with "I love you Bren - Al xxx". She kept this constantly beside her bed, my eldest daughter, Sylvia, now has this copy which she treasures.
On Brenda's headstone I had the words engraved "I am flying, passing high clouds, to be with you to be free" from that song. I am sure Brenda's face would light up with her full approval. God bless her xxx.
